Questions and Answers About EMF: Electric and Magnetic Fields Associated With the Use of Electric Power. booklet. 2002. Provides some answers to common questions about the possible health effects of electric and magnetic fields (EMF). Defines some basic electrical terms, describes EMFs, discusses recent scientific studies, addresses questions people have about their own exposure to EMFs, tells how to obtain more detailed information, and contains a moderate level of technical detail. Prepared by Oak Ridge National Laboratory for the EMF Research and Public Information Dissemination (RAPID) Program. GPO
Our bodies are sensitive to even weak EMF (electro-magnetic frequency fields. Research shows that when we are exposed to one consistent frequency for more than a few minutes, our body's ability to run its own electrical circuitry at optimum efficiency is disrupted. Iron, necessary for healthy blood and stored in the brain, is highly effected by EMF. The permeability of the cell membrane of our nerves, blood vessels, skin, and other organs is effected. The intricate DNA of the chromosomes has been shown to be effected by EMFs as well. In fact, throughout our bodies, every biochemical process involves precisely choreographed movement of EMF-sensitive atoms, molecules, and ions. USA Today conducted a survey of 4,567 readers and reported that EMF pollution is the No. 1 environmental concern in America today.
Swedish studies indicate that irritability, fatigue, dizziness and headaches are all associated with prolonged EMF exposure from computers. A Russian study shows that brain function is altered by prolonged exposure to EMF. This specially infused crystal is designed to help your body defend itself against the negative effects of EMF. The crystal is infused with a Subtle Energy energetic formula that works like "needleless acupuncture" to produce positive effects on the body's energy system and to counteract the disruptive influence of electromagnetic radiation.
While video display terminal (VDT) use has become commonplace in many types of jobs, there is little information on how long a person can safely use a computer each day. To investigate, Dr. Tesuya Nakazawa of Chiba University and colleagues surveyed over 25,000 office workers who responded to three questionnaires between 1995 and 1997. Participants answered qustions about the amount of time they spent in front of a VDT, their sleep habits, and physical and mental ailments including headache, low back pain, eyestrain, depression and anxiety. Their findings are published in the October 2002 issue of the American Journal of Industrial Medicine. "In our study, we found a significant relationship betwwen duration of daily VDT use and physical symptoms," even after adjusting for other factors that could influence the results, the authors write: "Office workers stuck in front of a computer most commonly complained of headache, eyestrain, joint pain and stiff shoulders."
Beyond the potential EMF dangers, perhaps the greatest risk with lengthy computer contact is sedentary stress. Muscle atrophy, eyestrain, lowered oxygenation (from not breathing normally), back, shoulder and neck pains or conditions, have all been documented from long-term computer interfacing. The Vital Force Computer Crystal addresses all these areas because the Subtle Energy "charge" is an overall strengthening of the body's core systems to help lessen the effects of sedentary stress.
The crystal is a very economical alternative approach to expensive computer shields or measuring devices that can cost several hundred dollars, and do not address the debilitating sedentary physical aspect.
USING THE CRYSTAL
Just place the crystal on your desk at the base of your computer screen. Users report that after using the crystal for just one day, they are less tired and irritated after working on their computers and able to maintain better concentration on their work.
Included with the crystal is a handsome plastic storage case.
Bioelectromagnetics: Current Risks & Concerns - "Latest research developments, especially since 1994, indicates that your local power line is not the primary source of electromagnetic health effects. Home and business interior wiring, equipment or appliance motor and small transformer EMF sources, and grounding to metal pipes seem to play a much more important part..."
